Hey all,
Max here. Just signed the family up for the Summer Reading Program at the Mesa County Library. Did it all digitally too. Sure one might say that reading is antiquated, or that it will eventually go the way of the Dodo, or other things those people who were saying those things couldn’t read here in this post because they’re idiots who took reading lightly. We’ve all had those moments at push or pull doors for sure, but imagine if you couldn’t read, finding yourself frozen outside your favorite gas station, unable to discern which way to enter the premises where your precious roller dogs lie. Not a pretty picture we’re painting here. Almost as pretty as said person’s digestive track, because they never learned to read about things like healthy eating, or what one too many gas station breakfasts do to your colon. Slim Jim’s, Mountain Dew, and loose stool…a lot of it. That’s about as descriptive as you want to be here.
You can sign up for the reading program super easy. As a pasty and awkward child, I spent a lot of time in libraries, and it shows. Made me the super hero loving, sign reading, tax form understanding dude I am today. I highly recommend it. Here’s where you go…
And here’s some things to get you started, if you like what I like. No big if you don’t…I would love to hear what you read as well.
Dark Nights: Metal (Comics the way comics are supposed to be done. Plus Batman. Duh)
The Magician Series by Raymond Feist (For you fantasy buffs…think of Feist as a Tolkien disciple, except with a bit more Stone Cold Steve Austin to the prose)
Clive Barker’s Books Of Blood (Horror fans…this is your guy, whenever you get tired of hearing about Steven King all the time)
