On Thursday, December 20th, the hippest big band on the Western Slope takes the Robinson Theatre stage at CMU for A Swingin' Holiday with the Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra (WCJO). This is the WCJO's fourth annual Holiday concert and their first at Colorado Mesa University.
The concert begins at 7:00pm and will feature Aspen jazz singer Jeannie Walla and everyone's favorite local crooner Scott Betts on vocals as well as several instrumental versions of your favorite Christmas songs by the 20 piece big band. The setlist for the evening will be announced soon and is a veritable Holiday mixtape of favorites all arranged and orchestrated to show off that big band sound.
All seating is general admission and tickets are $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets are available online at GJSO.org, by calling 970-243-6787, or by visiting the Grand Junction Symphony office at 414 Main Street. Tickets will also be available one hour prior to the concert at the Robinson Theatre box office.
This is one Holiday concert you won't want to miss!
The WCJO, under the direction of Greg Karly, performs the great musical works from all eras and styles of the American jazz tradition. The WCJO is also available for festivals, concerts, weddings, private parties and special events throughout the Western Slope and mountain communities of Colorado, and Eastern Utah.
