Magic 93.1 is “Your Number 1 Hit Music Station” for a reason. But sometimes brand new songs get lost in the shuffle, and some songs don’t get the love they should. So with some of the songs you missed, here’s my recommendations for your weekend playlists.
Ava Max “Freaking Me Out”
There’s something about this song that sounds both familiar and different. Max goes into detail about scary stuff and uses it as an analogy for falling in love with someone.
Jonas Brothers “I Believe”
Laid back beach-y vibes are a nice change of pace from the Jo Bros new stuff. It’s a love song sure, but it’s something to slowly groove to while wearing a pair of really nice headphones.
Clairo “Softly”
This Indie artist lures you into thinking you’re about to hear a new track from The Roots, and then all of a sudden her soft spoken voice cuts through the funky beat. Opposites attract in this case.
Ed Sheeran & Khalid “Beautiful People”
Ed and Khalid team up for a song and hilarious music video about the average everyday human being, who isn’t swimming in diamonds or being showered in cash. It’s a happy-sappy song with a positive message.
Foster the People “Imagination” & “Worst Nites”
Foster the People have been releasing some groovy new music lately. Worst Nites is the “put the top down while you’re driving your commute to spice things up a little bit” song. Imagination is the song you put on when you have decided to firmly park yourself on the couch and do absolutely nothing else.
half•alive “Maybe”
Half alive is one of those groups that had one hit in “Still Feel” with a youtube video that has about 25-million views, and about as many plays on Spotify. Now they’ve got a new album called “Now, Not Yet” and the song I most like from it is “Maybe.” Indie electro-pop with a solid bass line and synths.
Whatever you’re listening to, have a fantastic weekend!
